For the second time this week I’ve been out of work early! Heaven forfend! This time it was for a clinical appointment, following on from #299.

I had a visit to the podiatry clinic based at the Royal. It does lots of good work (and some bloody awful work) and the people who work there seem to love it or hate it. One thing is for sure…it’s one fugly building.

The podiatrist knew his stuff, and had a diagnosis inside of two minutes (which was a classic "I think I know what it is. Does this hurt? You screamed, yeah, I’ve got it nailed.")

I have tight calves (I’m not sure that’s a compliment), so his recommendations are:

- Lose weight
- Do calf stretching exercises

- Buy shoes with thicker heels

The best way to make yourself feel good is to do something nice for a stranger, and it will raise your energy, also. Try doing good things for others, and just being kind, and you will find that it makes you feel better.
